It’s estimated that 99% of all lifeforms that ever existed on Earth are extinct. So, biodiversity loss is not exactly a new phenomenon.
The question is therefore: Does it matter? Can and should we do something about the fact that 25% of plant and animal species today are near extinction as the result of human activity.
